Doylestown Borough Council approved a $179,757 design services contract with Michael Baker International Inc. on June 22 for the Green Street Complete Streets project. Borough Manager John H. Davis told Council the contract covers design services, construction oversight and inspection and, together with a field survey by Gilmore & Associates, constitutes the Borough’s match for a PennDOT grant.
Vice President Amy Popkin said the grant amount is $1,171,761. Mr. Davis told Council that Michael Baker has been involved in prior Bike Hike path work, was a consultant on the joint Bike Hike Committee and prepared the successful grant application. Council approved the motion (Jarret–Livrone) without objection; Mr. Davis said public outreach to residents and impacted property owners will occur as design advances.
