Doylestown Council adopts ordinance banning right turns by trucks at North Main and Broad

Doylestown Borough Council voted unanimously June 22 to adopt Ordinance No. 2026-6, which prohibits right turns by trucks traveling southbound on North Main Street at Broad Street. The ordinance, presented by Public Safety Committee Chair Larry Browne, had been advertised after committee review and was adopted on a Browne–Kinney motion with no public comment.
The change is intended to reduce hazardous truck turning movements at a busy downtown intersection, the committee said. Mr. Browne introduced the ordinance and Council called the roll; all members voted in favor. The ordinance was described to Council as an implementation of a committee-recommended traffic-control measure following prior study and advertisement.
