Stop-work order on RISI subdivision prompts plan commission action to approve minor plat modifications

Staff told commissioners that National Homes (and other involved owners) began construction in a subdivision where elevations were recorded with the plat incorrectly, prompting stop-work orders. The foundations are in place and staff said the developer must file two modifications to the previously approved subdivision documents before work can resume.
“We put stop work orders on it,” Liz said, explaining the foundation and elevation problems and that the contractor recorded elevations incorrectly. Staff said developers have provided new street-grade profiles showing drainage will not be compromised and that the technical review committee has provided feedback; mailbox location and ADA sidewalk configuration issues remain under discussion with the U.S. Postal Service and project attorneys.
Staff requested plan commission availability for a special administrative meeting (two days’ notice required) to review the required modifications so the stop-work orders can be lifted and construction can proceed before winter.
