Commissioner Anderson announced that the Carver County Family Resource Center is now operating and listed two upcoming public events aimed at families: a family-centered program on Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mulvarian Church (115 East 4th Street, Chaska) for children ages 4–12, and a back-to-school health and wellness event on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
The Aug. 4 session will include family activities and a parent-education component alongside children's programs intended to encourage learning about animals and adaptation. "This session will offer family-centered activities, including a parent education session that runs alongside engaging children's program," Commissioner Anderson said.
The Aug. 13 event is sponsored by Medica and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and will provide school supplies, vaccination sign-ups, health insurance assistance and mental health and wellness resources; staff from Carver County Health and Human Services and community partners will be on site. Commissioners thanked county staff and community partners for launching the Family Resource Center and encouraged families to participate.
