Staff outlined outreach strategies designed to broaden participation in the comprehensive plan update, including bilingual materials, online surveys and in-person engagement at a hot dog festival this weekend. Kim encouraged commissioners and the public to stop by the booth Friday and Saturday to complete surveys and share input.
Kim said the outreach will be accessible and bilingual: “Everything needs to be, bilingual so that everyone in our community can play a part,” she said. Staff also said American StructurePoint will run the booth and that surveys will be integrated into the city’s Building Services web page. Commissioners were asked to volunteer for short shifts at outreach events and to help spread the word online.
