The board chair (Speaker 2) instructed staff to provide updated lunch figures and to ensure that public questions are recorded. During the exchange other board members raised related concerns about staff retention and whether open positions would be filled. Administration said currently there were about 17 open positions districtwide, but that number includes leave replacements and not all are new hire slots. The administration said it would supply a breakdown of open positions and confirm the reported salary figures.
The board did not take formal action on personnel during the meeting; staff said personnel items were on the next day's agenda for board consideration and that the public would receive the requested clarifications.
