County staff presented and the Board approved a letter of intent (LOI) for a proposed Public Safety Complex site of approximately 44 acres along Rosemary Hill Road in the planned Peters Creek Business Park. Caleb Reisinger, (real estate/capital manager) described the facility as a co‑located campus to support fire and rescue, emergency management, law enforcement operations, 911 communications and fleet maintenance, and noted a St. Johns River State College co‑located training component to support public‑safety workforce development.
Staff said funding for the acquisition is available in CIP funds and that a request for proposals for related work will be published in early–mid April; the Board approved the LOI and directed staff to proceed with next steps in the acquisition and planning process.
