Ordinance 867, the city's five-year Capital Improvement Program, was presented and read by title at the Sept. 10 meeting. Council members reminded the public that the CIP is a rolling five-year planning document and that the city is only committed to the first column (the first-year projects). A council member observed that the jetty had a cost estimate in the CIP while the pier did not and asked whether a rough number should be inserted.
Mel (staff) responded that bids and numbers for those items are rough estimates at this point; the approach is to include firm numbers via budget adjustments when contracts are secured. Council closed discussion on the CIP and agreed that the item would proceed through the ordinance process.
