District reports roof leaks, flooding and elevator work; insurance review underway for Logan Elementary

Superintendent Watkins told the board that heavy rain caused minor flooding and roof leaks at district sites; he said lines showed about 5 inches of rain in a few hours that overwhelmed drains and led to brown water in some areas.
Watkins said the district has elevator work underway at Logan High and has completed pole and foundation work at Mansfield for new lighting. Regarding Logan Elementary, he said the district has not yet received a final report from the insurance company and has instructed its architectural firm (B and M) to consult the Fire Marshal’s office to clarify required work and whether insurance will cover repairs.
Board members asked whether the Fire Marshal has been cooperative; Watkins said they are cooperating but that the documentation is not yet complete. He emphasized the need to confirm funding availability before beginning work and said staff will continue coordinating with the architect and the Fire Marshal.
