Assistant Administrator and Clerk Butts briefed the board on several administrative matters: utility billing deadlines and late fees, the pending final presentation of the 2025 audit on Aug. 3, absentee voting windows for the August partisan primary and the village’s process for responding to open records requests.
Butts said that utility bills were due that day, late fees would be applied Wednesday and 10-day delinquent notices would be mailed; the 2025 audit draft has been reviewed and will be presented Aug. 3. On elections, Butts provided dates and times for in‑person absentee voting and noted special voting deputies will visit Kettle Moraine Gardens on July 28. On open records, Butts described the process: "First the requester is going to submit an open records request either verbally or in writing to the village clerk... I will then acknowledge the receipt of the request by providing a confirmation to the requester that it's been received," and explained fees, clarification requests and statutory exemptions.
The board did not take further action on these routine administrative items during the meeting.
