The Planning & Zoning Commission voted to continue consideration of the renewal for 5920 North Ocean Boulevard to the June meeting after staff flagged discrepancies between the prior approval and the newly submitted permit set.
Town Planner Corey O'Gorman told the commission that the permit drawings contained changes to floor plans and interior layouts that affected exterior windows and doors, and that the building height on the permit set exceeded the maximum allowed under town code. Staff recommended tabling the resubmittal to give the applicant and staff time to ensure the plans comply and to provide required detailing for window openings, articulation and floor-area-ratio calculations.
Homeowner Joseph Assier said he submitted the architectural permit set as requested and expected some technical items to be finalized during permitting rather than returned to the commission. He expressed frustration at the delay but indicated willingness to work with staff; the commission moved to continue the item to the June meeting to allow the applicant to coordinate with staff.
