Commissioner Merrell and others said the issue is overdue for review; Merrell noted that local voucher funding allocations have increased and urged the delegation to revisit the formula.
The board also discussed arranging a legislative breakfast or meeting in Raleigh as part of outreach. The motion to add the topic to the legislative agenda carried by voice vote; staff was asked to begin coordinating with the delegation on meeting logistics.
