Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission to reopen grant applications next month, director says

Chris Evans, executive director of the Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, told the Somerset audience that the commission’s role is to support community-led efforts and to ensure funds are used effectively. "We want to make sure that the funds that come from the opioid abement commission are utilized in a way that make a difference in the communities across the Commonwealth," Evans said.

Evans announced that applications for the next round of grants will open next month and emphasized transparency and accountability in the review process. He also said commission staff will collaborate with communities to deploy funds in ways that fit local needs, citing partnerships with family recovery courts, Department for Community Based Services and local judicial partners.
