At its July 20 meeting the Union County Board of Commissioners approved a modification to a 2019 conditional rezoning in the Bula Church area (petition 2026-CZ-007).
Senior Planner Bjorn Hansen said the applicant requested a change to operating-hour conditions attached to the original rezoning and, following neighbor input, agreed to two additional conditions: a solid-material privacy fence to provide a greater buffer and limits on the hours for trash and recycling pickup so they would not occur during overnight hours. Hansen said the land-use board and staff recommended approval.
A commissioner moved to adopt the ordinance approving the map revision and to adopt the consistency and reasonableness statement; the motion carried by voice vote. The transcript records the hour-change wording unclearly (the spoken line reads "hours of operation be changed from 9:00 to 9:00 to 6:30 to 9:30"); the article reports the action and the two added conditions and notes the transcript ambiguity about the exact prior and revised hour format.
