Public safety updates dominated a portion of the March 24 meeting as Palm Beach Shores reviewed law enforcement staffing and upcoming event logistics.
PBSO Sgt. Steve Langevin reported two deputies have been hired for four hours each and that Riviera Beach Police will assist with the upcoming marathon; he said residents should be able to ingress and egress with only minor disruption during the race (6:30–10:30). Langevin also noted PBSO is down approximately 80 positions countywide but that the town will have the contracted number of personnel. He described staffing at the St. Patrick's Day parade—"12 deputies and 7 explorers"—and said explorers will assist at the Easter event.
Fire Chief Trevor Steedman reviewed February calls and training hours and said the department is covering volunteer hours after losing two volunteers. He encouraged planning for hurricane season and thanked staff and volunteers for their event support.
