Staff presented petition 26CL-14-155 for 5620 Pumpkin Vine Road in Clinton Township, a general-agriculture parcel of approximately 5.03 acres. The Lane family requested a variance to increase the cumulative accessory area from 4,000 square feet to 6,000 square feet in order to build a 36-by-54-foot barn. TAC commentary noted the need for a septic permit if plumbing is installed, a drainage permit, a driveway permit (temporary construction driveway at no charge), and a building permit through the planning office.
Applicant Dean Lane said he had applied for the required permits and completed the drainage permit earlier the same day. The board moved and seconded approval of the petition; the motion passed on voice vote. Staff attached two conditions: addressing TAC comments and recording an affidavit that the building will be used for personal, noncommercial purposes.
