Town Attorney Keith Davis described the ordinance as a companion to a prior moratorium covering the VE area and said staff will undertake a comprehensive review of existing town regulations and propose revisions to comply with new FEMA flood-zone requirements. Commissioner Kathleen McGahran moved to adopt the ordinance; Commissioner Steven Smith seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
The moratorium directs staff to propose code revisions and provides a six-month window to consider continuation or termination. The ordinance includes standard conflicts and severability language and becomes effective on adoption.
