Commission approves limited valet service for Buccaneer, final approval contingent on off-site parking

The Palm Beach Shores Commission on March 24 approved a limited valet parking plan for the Buccaneer Marine & Resort with final expansion contingent on off-site parking approval from the City of Riviera Beach.

Chris Hamilton, legal counsel for the Buccaneer, told the commission "the valet currently accommodates the 25 spaces (3 persons per space) for the restaurant only," and said the dock cannot receive final inspection until off-site parking is approved. The commission approved the limited valet plan "with the understanding the full valet will be approved when the required parties fully approve the offsite parking," a motion moved by Commissioner Steven Smith and seconded by Commissioner Kathleen McGahran. The motion passed 5-0.

Mayor Alan Fiers and staff noted the off-site parking condition is the remaining requirement before the resort can finish the dock inspection; the applicant also said the on-site dumpster will be relocated as part of the plan. The commission recorded the contingency explicitly so that the full valet service is not implemented until Riviera Beach finalizes the off-site parking arrangement.
