The Altamont City Council approved Resolution 308 on Feb. 27, 2025, authorizing condemnation proceedings for two properties at 806 S. Huston and 911 S. Wells after a public hearing at which no owners or representatives were present. Councilmember Kyle Wiford moved to approve the resolution and Councilmember Colt Booth seconded; the motion carried.
Stephen Roy presented a letter on behalf of the owner of 806 S. Huston stating he is assisting with a sale and that prospective new owners plan to contact the city about remediation. Mayor Richard Hayward opened the public hearing at 7:01 PM and closed it at 7:06 PM after receiving no public comment. The council’s action implements the next procedural step identified in Resolution 308.
