Council recognizes Umatilla County dispatchers; three staff earn rare EID certification

Primmer described the center’s workload (reported 143,061 calls last year with 29,434 emergencies and 101 text‑to‑911 sessions) and highlighted training and wellness efforts; she introduced Cindy Lemon and Rachel Hower, noting both have attained advanced certifications and that the agency is building an internal wellness program.
Council members thanked the dispatch center for its public‑safety work and recognized the stress of the profession and the value of advanced training. Primmer said advanced telecommunicator certifications translate into more precise asset deployment and improved crisis intervention that can reduce risk to field responders.
