The Coffee County Commission on its April agenda accepted the monthly financial summaries and statements of cash flows for the periods ending March 1 and March 31, 2026 and received a required report about an interfund transfer. Mariana, the county budget director, told commissioners the monthly package compares budgeted amounts with actual receipts and outlays and includes a cash-flow statement.
Mariana explained the interfund action: “This is a report we're required to file anytime we have any kind of interfund loans or borrowings,” she said, adding that the county moved $3,500,000 from the general debt service fund across two capital projects (the Justice Center roof and a tele-home-library project) instead of incurring external debt. She said the move carried 0% interest and that the filing with the comptroller’s office was required; the commission approved the items as presented.
