Board unanimously approves resignations, contracts, resolutions and ordinances; creates BDAC
Summary
At its May 12 meeting the Board unanimously accepted a ZHB resignation, awarded a demolition contract, adopted two resolutions (ZHB fees and Norristown Area High School waiver), authorized advertising of ordinances on snow removal and HRC amendments and approved the 2026 road paving advertisement; the Board also authorized creation of a Business Development Advisory Committee.
The West Norriton Board of Commissioners approved a series of formal actions on May 12, all by unanimous vote of the five commissioners present. Motions and outcomes recorded in the minutes include:
- Acceptance of the resignation of Thomas Rizzo from the Zoning Hearing Board (motion: Mr. Miller; second: Mr. Smock). - Award of the demolition contract for 82 W. Indian Lane to BRB Contractors as the lowest bidder (motion: Mr. Halbert; second: Mr. Miller). - Adoption of Resolution #26-1750 (Amending Fees of the Zoning Hearing Board) (motion: Mr. Halbert; second: Mr. Miller). - Adoption of Resolution #26-1751 (Granting a Waiver of Land Development for Norristown Area High School) (motion: Mr. Halbert; second: Ms. Milazzo). - Authorization for staff to advertise Ordinance No. 2026-784 regarding Snow Removal (motion: Mr. Smock; second: Mr. Miller). - Authorization for staff to advertise Ordinance No. 2026-787 amending the Human Relations Commission ordinance (minutes list this authorization twice; motions recorded as Ms. Milazzo seconded by Mr. Miller and, on an immediately following line, Mr. Halbert seconded by Mr. Miller). - Authorization to advertise the 2026 Road Paving Project (motion: Mr. Miller; second: Mr. Halbert).
All votes were recorded as unanimous. The minutes show the Board also authorized creation of a Business Development Advisory Committee (motion: Ms. Milazzo; second: Mr. Halbert).
