Township hires conditional officer; police staffing review to run two months

Township manager Jason M. Bobst told the Board that a conditional offer of employment as a police officer was extended to Taylor Jones, who accepted and is scheduled to begin on April 13, 2026. The SRO start timing was still pending confirmation from the school district.
Bobst also reported that the Governor's Center for Local Government Services (GCLGS) conducted an intake meeting on March 19 for a comprehensive staffing analysis of the police department; Bobst estimated the study will take about two months to complete. President Milazzo emphasized the purpose is to review staffing, not to reduce personnel, saying, “We are not looking to fire or cut anyone.” Chief Kelly said he welcomes the study, and board members noted there is no cost to taxpayers for the service.
