Board hears first reading of comprehensive policy manual updates

Dr. Perri told the board the district is conducting a thorough review of its policy manual with assistance from Mr. Ryan's firm and the policy review committee to ensure alignment with local, state and federal requirements.
"We're going through every policy in your entire policy manual, to make sure we're current with, local requirements or local policy, state law, and federal law," Dr. Perri said, adding that a comparison of old and new language was provided to board members and that many of the changes are technical. She reiterated that this was a first reading and invited questions before the second reading at the next meeting.
Board members thanked staff for the review and were encouraged to submit any questions between now and the second reading. No votes were taken on this item during the meeting.
