Council accepts $1 million CAT grant for municipal park (Resolution 2636)

City staff reported that a Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grant application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority had been approved to fund the municipal park project. The grant award was described as $1 million and would be dispersed on a reimbursement basis.
The council moved to adopt Resolution 2636 (CAT 26 CAT 024) authorizing execution of the grant agreement. Roll-call votes were recorded in favor and the motion carried.
Staff said equipment deliveries for the park fitness area were underway and final installation and project coordination will continue as the city uses reimbursement funds under the CAT program.
