Dr. Alvarado said the district will measure growth against baseline data established last year and that early assessment and monitoring will be used to identify students who need additional supports. On operations, business services staff reported HVAC testing and a contingency stock of 10 portable air-conditioning units with vendor agreements to secure additional units if needed. Human resources said hiring is "on track" with literacy coach positions nearly filled, and transportation outlined three routing checkpoints for special-education students to reduce errors.
Board members probed program verification and staffing timelines, class-size averages, dual-immersion staffing, newcomer program supports and school-safety planning. Trustees expressed support for the cross-department coordination but asked staff to return with further details in board-to-board briefings when available.
