"We had 2 vacant positions, and we were trying to hire, and we weren't getting any response. We hired 1. He left. And so we're back... we did post and advertise it as a full time position and we did get some response at that," Steve said. Commissioners discussed part‑time health‑insurance stipends found in the Teamsters contract, salary and budget impacts, and agreed to amend the resolution to add "other duties as assigned" so the job description could be broadened for cross‑training.
Staff estimated a small net savings moving forward in 2027 budgeted costs; the motion passed on voice vote. The department will update the job description and begin recruiting under the new structure.
