The commission issued a Negative 3 Determination for maintenance work at 576 Lawrence Street, part of the Centennial Island Apartments complex. Brandon Lambert, civil engineer with IMEG, told the commission the work is maintenance‑oriented and will not expand the development footprint: the proposal calls for a 2‑inch mill and overlay of pavement, repair of two small full‑depth pavement areas, sidewalk replacement and fence replacement along existing alignment.
"So, within the riverfront area, we're looking at about 1,800 square feet of improvements," Lambert said, adding the majority of the work falls within the buffer zone but is limited to repair in kind. Commissioners complimented the double layer of erosion control and described the proposal as low disturbance. Following a motion, the commission voted to grant a Negative 3 Determination, which indicates no further WPA permitting is required by the commission for the maintenance activities, subject to standard erosion controls and site practices.
