City Administrator Beverly Hicks reviewed the Hannah Harper Day event at the May 19 meeting, reporting more than 150 volunteers participated.
Hicks presented financials: total expenses of $29,115.96, total revenues of $23,483.00 and a city out-of-pocket cost of $5,632.96. Council took no formal action on the report. During the public and media question period, Amanda Mendez of the Howell County News asked about the amount budgeted for use tax revenues in 2026 and about law enforcement hours provided during Hannah Harper Day; Hicks answered those questions as recorded in the minutes.
