The board approved a variance to allow a putting-green accessory use in the side yard at 189 North Parkview after staff described the lot’s configuration (primary structure set 7–8 feet off the rear property line) and a proposed screening/mounding plan. Staff recommended a landscape plan be submitted and approved by the city’s landscape consultant and noted a consent and hold-harmless agreement would be required where project work encroached on a narrow strip of city-owned property.
Applicant George Tinchevsky and co-applicant Matt Mormon said the backyard offered little room and that the proposed mounding and plantings would screen the putting green from adjacent properties and look appropriate from both sides. The board’s motion granted the variance from Bexley code section 12.52 with the landscape-plan condition; roll-call votes were affirmative.
