Miss Harris presented ordinance 20 26-2054 asking the council to appropriate $1,245,500 from the general fund unassigned fund balance to finish the sheriff's evidence storage facility. "The ordinance you have before you today is requesting council's approval to appropriate, $1,245,500 from the general fund's unassigned fund balance for the sheriff's evidence storage facility," Miss Harris said, and she described the facility as a public-safety capital project that will modernize evidence storage to support investigations and court proceedings.
Harris said construction of the facility is substantially complete, the project is partially ARPA-funded, and the amendment will restore approximately $1,211,600 previously authorized in December 2024 and provide an additional about $30,207 to satisfy remaining contractual obligations. The council moved, seconded (motion credited to Mister Mosteller with a second from Miss McGriff) and voted unanimously to approve the ordinance; the transcript contains no recorded dissent or amendments.
