The finance committee presented revenue and reimbursement updates relevant to the upcoming budget.
The committee reported the IDEA 2026–27 allocation is $2,885,003.95 with a nonpublic portion of $196,000; those funds are used primarily to offset out-of-district special-education tuition and related services. The district expects approximately $1,726,890 in extraordinary-aid reimbursements for 25/26; the finance report noted that those reimbursements were already included in the district’s revenue estimates for last year’s budget and typically arrive in September.
Committee members also disclosed that the district’s self-insured health program finished roughly $500,000 over budget for 25/26, driven primarily by prescription costs, with rebates offsetting some costs. As previously approved in June, the board will place $3,500,000 of excess surplus into capital reserve for 25/26; auditors will complete year-end work and confirm any additional amounts that might be available for 27/28.
