The Union City Borough Council accepted a quote from Construction Services of PA for $16,679 to install a canoe/kayak launch at the American Legion ball field, contingent on receiving an easement from the American Legion. Borough Manager Cindy Wells said the project cost was under the $23,200 threshold that would require formal bidding and that the borough engineer reviewed the quotes.
Two quotes had been received: Blum Property Services LLC at $18,541.50 and Construction Services of PA at $16,679. Councilor Osborn moved to accept Construction Services of PA's quote and Councilor Kerns seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The council recorded the award and the contingency that an easement from the American Legion be provided before work proceeds.
