Waste Management to run dedicated Monday bulk‑pickup route for Brighton residents

Supervisor Bill Maley announced a new customer service initiative with Waste Management: a dedicated bulk‑pickup truck will run every Monday through the Brighton Refuse District to pick up large items (mattresses, furniture and other items that do not fit in a tote) at no extra charge. He said the service will cover approximately 5,200 households in the district and residents must request pickups by the end of Wednesday for the following Monday.
Maley said the dedicated crew is intended to reduce missed bulk pickups and curbside clutter following a series of storms that increased pickup volumes. "They will be picking those items up through the 5,200 or so households in the Brighton Refuse District every Monday," he said. Staff advised residents to request the pickup via the town website and to place items out Sunday night for Monday collection.
