Authority backs DCIP planning request to improve water resiliency for base and city connections

Another speaker described how the existing cast-iron pipe can strip chlorine so residuals fall “from about 30% down to less than 5%,” requiring additional chemical treatment.
Officials framed the DCIP application as part of a broader resilience and infrastructure push that also ties to housing and power improvements needed to support mission growth. The authority requested staff continue strategic planning for the DCIP application; no final grant award was announced at the meeting.
