Miss Wallace, who led the Goal 1 presentation, said the district will prioritize continuous academic growth and equitable access to high‑quality instruction. "The first goal area is around student learning," she said, listing strategies including evidence‑based teaching, instructional coaching, the science of reading, curriculum alignment and targeted intervention to close subgroup gaps.
The presentation also calls for strengthening kindergarten readiness and addressing declines among high‑performing students who start strong but later plateau. Miss Wallace and other leaders tied that work to a recent DCAC report on enrichment programs and said the strategic plan will add concrete action steps and measurements to track progress.
