Sumpter council approves meeting minutes, pays monthly bills and previews supplemental budget

The Sumpter City Council on March 10 approved two sets of meeting minutes and voted to pay the month’s bills.
Chair (speaker 1) opened the meeting and asked if there were changes to the 01/27/2026 minutes; Committee member (speaker 3) moved to approve the minutes and the council voted aye. The council likewise approved the 02/10/2026 minutes after a separate motion by the same member.
Council members then reviewed bills and grant-related expenses. "A whole slew of expenses this month," Committee member (speaker 2) said while summarizing the payments before the council. Chair (speaker 1) moved to pay the bills as presented; the motion passed by voice vote.
The council discussed timing for a general supplemental budget to cover items such as a grapple and a hot water heater added to parks' needs and clarified procurement timing tied to advertising and fiscal-year boundaries. Chair (speaker 1) said the administration will prepare numbers for the supplemental budget and bring them back for approval.
The meeting concluded routine business and moved on to separate agenda items including cemetery resolutions and training reimbursements.
