Humboldt board unanimously approves first reading of 2026 budget and several motions

The board also approved several routine and administrative items during the meeting, including a laptop purchase for the finance office not to exceed $600.00, a monthly lease of the old shop for $700 plus utilities, the purchase of Jarding land for ballfield parking for $20,000, and a change in accounting method to cash basis effective Jan. 1, 2026. The meeting minutes record that all motions were carried by unanimous roll call.
The board approved claims totaling $270,714.10 (listed vendors include H & W Contracting $191,917.34 and Stockwell Engineering $43,501.70) and recorded August payroll at $20,622.00. The next regular meeting was set for Sept. 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Humboldt Community Center.
