North Beach residents urge stricter short‑term‑rental enforcement and registration

Speakers proposed immediate changes including expanded enforcement hours (Wednesday–Sunday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m.), a county‑maintained STR database synced with online listings, initial and annual safety inspections, manager identification requirements, fines scaled to listing price, and a formal appeal process for citations. Commissioners asked staff to take public input and consider an agenda item for regulatory changes; residents offered to provide data to staff for policy drafting.
