Joe Martin announced the Heritage Society will participate in the Citywide Yard Sale under the pavilion on Saturday, June 13 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Mayor Monica Giberson reviewed the Citywide Cleanup and Declutter Events, encouraged council participation in Port Day, and noted special Christmas-themed beach badges are being explored.
Mayor Giberson said the fireworks for Port Community Day cost approximately $8,000, and that advertising revenue in the event program helps offset those costs. Councilmember Eugene Hawn reported the fire truck refurbishing is nearly complete and that food trucks are scheduled for Community Day; Bill Smallwood received Council support to pursue a separate fundraising event for garden-area improvements.
