Mayor Wright confirmed those numbers and said the reallocation will allow the auditorium work to proceed.
Committee members also discussed procurement and budgeting for older city buildings, with several stressing the difficulty of estimating subsurface or concealed conditions in mid-20th-century structures. Director Cormier (purchasing) said procurement law allows a 20–25% change order range in some projects and emphasized the change-order process for unanticipated conditions. The chair said the item will remain on the committee’s agenda for the next meeting to finalize the reappropriation.
