Residents urge Sammamish commission to analyze citywide housing needs before major land-use changes

During public comment, Paul Stickney and Mary Victor asked the commission to slow some Town Center decisions and instead perform a citywide review of housing types and fiscal impacts. "I believe it's time to do city side housing needs on a city wide scale before making major land use decisions going forward," Paul Stickney told commissioners and handed out documents and attachments.
Mary Victor urged commissioners to watch an Urban3 video and said the city is ‘‘85% single-family homes’' (now about 87% as she noted) and therefore fiscally strained. She pointed to maps showing municipal revenue per acre and argued centers are more revenue productive. Both called for deploying Town Center capacity to support missing-middle housing and to use existing centers to achieve fiscal balance.
