PHNID staff shares survey results; community renderings open for feedback

At the June 3 PHNID Advisory Council meeting, staff member Tamara Johnson presented findings from the PHNID monthly meeting survey covering January through April 2026, based on 35 completed responses. Johnson said respondents prefer to receive information via emails and newsletters, that most attendees are not business owners, and that the newsletter content is generally read every month or most months and judged useful.
Johnson also reviewed conceptual community renderings developed during National Small Business Week and stressed that the materials are conceptual and intended to give residents a voice. She said there are three upcoming opportunities to review and provide feedback on the renderings: a late June or July date to be determined for Commissioner Scott, an August 4 presentation to the Pine Hills Community Council meeting, and an Engage Orange event.
Council members and attendees discussed how local businesses can support the community. Tamara suggested business engagement through attendance at PHNID meetings, providing employment opportunities and improving property appearance; staff said the council hopes to reinstate a "business of the quarter" recognition in late fall.
