Kenneth Dwyer of the Pine Hills Safe Neighborhood Partnership told the advisory council he is working to attract more investment to Pine Hills. He said one sign was recently replaced at Silver Star and Apopka Vineland Road and that he would like to install banners mentioning Pine Hills along Silver Star Road to increase neighborhood visibility.
Sandra Prevalus of Our Purpose Project reported providing baby supplies to more than 100 families at a recent Community Baby Shower and said the organization received a grant from Wal‑Mart to provide work shoes for youth and an Orange County Sheriff’s Office grant to support youth programming. Those community supports were raised during the public‑comment portion of the April 1 meeting.
No formal council action on these requests was taken during the meeting; staff encouraged continued coordination with PHNID staff and the District 6 office to pursue partnership and funding options.
