Chief Rexrove said the department applied for two FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grants — one for an engine and another for new self‑contained breathing apparatus — and noted those grants are highly competitive with awards expected around September 30. He also reported the department received a state fire marshal small equipment grant to replace aging stabilization struts and will begin in‑service training on the new equipment.
