PHNID staff updated the advisory council on community outreach and business engagement at the March 4 meeting. Tamara Johnson said she and Chair Michael Strayhorn toured a local Amazon site and that "Amazon is open to partnering with the PHNID and the community at large." The council discussed potential partnership opportunities but made no formal commitments.
Staff reminded attendees that Small Business Week is scheduled for May 3'8 and that a Community Information Fair will be part of that programming; more details will be provided at the April meeting. Tamara also said Orange County's Business Resource Office will host a four-part series in Pine Hills starting March 17 at 2 p.m., and registration information will be shared when available.
Council members encouraged outreach to local businesses and noted these events aim to connect residents and small-business owners with county resources. No motions or funding decisions tied to the reported partnership or programming were taken at the session.
