Commission discusses school coloring books and sponsor invoicing

Commissioners discussed reviving the historic-themed coloring books for local schools and the funding process to produce them. Members said the standard contribution is around $100 and that the books include sponsor names on the cover and inside; one commissioner explained past years sometimes left a shortfall when sponsors did not complete payment on time.
City Planner David Heinold told the commission the city can set up invoicing and online payment for sponsors and suggested a standard reminder timeline (about 30 days). "If you give me all of the people that are on the list, we can set up invoicing for everyone, and then they can pay online," Heinold said. Commissioners agreed the person who secures a sponsor should follow up if the invoice is not paid.
