At the June 10 meeting the board adopted the district’s final budget for fiscal year 2026–27. A reading of the budget resolution included the statement that the board "sets appropriations at $28,055,193" for specified funds and detailed tax levies for the coming year; the resolution was moved by Director Haverly and seconded by Vice Chair Milton Berger.
After board discussion and a roll-call vote, the budget passed 6–1 with Director Pollitt recorded as the lone no vote. Business manager Cece explained that the final budget reconciles estimated revenues and expenditures, notes modest enrollment variation for the newly opening Whitmore Academy charter, and includes specific appropriations across instruction, support services, debt service and grant funds. The board also reviewed related supplemental appropriations for the 2025–26 year addressing tax anticipation loans and federal grant adjustments, which were adopted by resolution.
The adopted budget text read into the record also listed tax rates: a permanent rate quoted as "$3 and 0.8928 per $1,000 of assessed value for operations" and a local option rate of 75¢ per $1,000 of assessed value. The board recorded total appropriations for multiple funds in the reading and the chair declared the motion passed 6–1. The administration will file the adopted budget documents and post the final figures at the district administrative office.
