The chair of the West Bath School Board announced at the start of the Aug. 21 meeting that she will not seek re-election after nearly 9.5 years on the board. She said she has "enjoyed every minute" of service and intends to remain an advocate for the district while pursuing other challenges.
Board members acknowledged the announcement and thanked the chair for her service. The chair also reminded the public that nomination papers are available for the two school board seats and one selectmen seat up for election this year. The board set its next meeting for Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. at the school, at which time additional election-related items may be discussed.
