Ponce Inlet manager outlines drainage projects, events and sidewalk-design review meeting

Town Manager Mike Disher provided updates on public-works projects and community events at the April 16 council meeting. He said the Town will expand the Beach Street retention pond and install a drainage collection basin under the Old Carriage Road cul-de-sac as part of two drainage improvement projects.
Disher announced the Ponce Preserves the Planet event for April 18, 2026 and a Special Joint Meeting of the Essential Services Advisory Board and the Cultural Services, Historic Preservation, and Tree Advisory Board on April 20 at 5:30 p.m. to review design plans for the South Peninsula Drive Sidewalk Project. He also noted the Police Department participated in a crosswalk detail with Best Foot Forward, the Fire Department will host a hands-only CPR course on May 2, 2026, and May's regular Council meeting will be held a week earlier on May 14, 2026.
Disher referred attendees to the Town website for additional information on the sidewalk project and event details.
